I teach from a very simple philosophy on acting: the character is not a mask to be worn by the actor; the actor must remove their own mask in order to become the character. In my approach, I encourage actors to explore in an environment where there is no right or wrong, there is only honesty. I view my role as a teacher as that of a facilitator; I provide my students with a variety of exercises through which they may explore text, character, objectives and tactics as well as a mirror through which they may observe their own work. This exploration-based philosophy allows the actor to develop a completely unique, reliable, and ever-evolving performance process from which they may approach their work. I am available for acting workshops, one-on-one coaching, and instruction in a university or conservatory setting.
